Those Who Care
Those Who Care In Indonesia
Angela Tobing is a special lady. She is not just someone who sits in a church pew, listening to her pastor feed her with words recorded in the Words from God and Jesus in Indonesian. She was born in a Christian family and raised in a huge valley East of Medan a few hours away. Martin Luther had sent missionaries to Indonesia and in God's will, the whole valley is known for having Christian love throughout the valley.
Angela was born on September 23, 1980. When her father retired from working in a bank, they moved to Stabat, Sumatra. Stabat has a fairly large small city, or large town. It is has a Islam following that controls the city.
In March 2003, she volunteered to help the medical missions charity, The Mentawai Venture. She became the interpreter for Joseph A Burke Sr. She went to the Mentawai Island about 100 miles off the South shores at Padang Harbor. Then she also went on 3 additional trips through March 2005 after the huge tsunami that killed 2,000, mostly Muslims. More about Angela
Timothy D Burke
Known by the name, Tim, his walk with the Lord began when he was young. He has been with Bringing Good News and Good Things for many years. He is dedicated to helping in helping with kids. When Tim was in his teens he volunteered to help Teen Missions. He went to Florida for their Boot Camp where learning how to work as a team was one of the prime things for them to learn.
Once he graduated he was rerouted to the Philippines where they spent 2 months helping build a structure for a church and the children to use. He found that hard work, hot temperatures with high humidity was a new area for him to learn to work without feeling sorry for himself. He also learn that most people, along with their children, have a hard life to live with very little income.
